The castle was built on the foundations of a feudal fortress towards year 1500. The feudal architecture remains clearly visible to this day in the gothic cellars and the oldest parts of the castle. The rest of the castle is based on Renaissance architecture, and it is indeed the only Renaissance castle in the Oise Department. It is one of the most beautiful castles near Paris.
